I've filed my back tax returns from 2002 to current and owe the irs $80,000. My tax guy is trying to help me set up a payment plan or get to non-collectible status. Problem is I am married and my wife on advice of her tax guy has been filing as head of household and I filed all my back returns as single to keep her out of my mess. My tax guy says this will complicate matters for me in trying to get a payment plan or non-collectible or even an o.i.c. I would like to get some advice on this matter because i am willing to do a payment plan but can't afford $1400 a month which he says is what i'd have to pay the irs with no questions asked. My wife (Sharon Krische) is trying to make a purchase and has been approved by the bank on the condition that the two liens that are showing up are released. We have a release on one but the other one that was placed in 1998 was not released. Isn't there a 10yr statute of limitations? Should this lien have been released?
