<description>I did amended taxes for 2008, 2009, and 2010. The 2009 somehow or someway I mistakely selected the wrong columns, lines putting my information as Business. I amended the 2009 to relfect that I do not have a business to have my expenses placed under schedule a. The IRS sent me a letter stating that I did not include the refund amount into the income (wages, etc, other income) in total amount, and that I had included additional expenses claimed. They stated that if I agree, I would have to refund all $9k of it back. I explained to them that the amendment was to correct that I do not have a business, in 2009 I was certain that I included because of the property damage I occurred to my home in NC which why I was certain that I had included. I itemized my expenses on my bank statements, advised them becuase of the incident on my own I was certain that that income was already included in the total income and most of my important paperwork was damaged. This was sent to them on 9/26/11, that they needed the bankstatements to highlighted, itemized to show what the expenses are, and that they are not going to take time to do that for me. I attached all bankstatments for 2009, some credit card statements, mortgage statementss to show the name of the companies on my bankstatements, which was reponding/contesting the amount. The first letter was sent in August, which I sent all my bank statements. They called me at 6pm today but I was on the road from Charleston to Moncks Corner driving and could not talk on the phone because of the traffic. I check my phone message at after 640pm and saw a message/call at 6pm. On the message Mr Lewis called me and stated that he wanted to talk to me about my case, and he will be sending out a statement about my case on 10/17/11. I have been on the phone since 7pm waiting to speak to someone now. I explained in the letter that the income reporting was an oversight not intially on part, and that I have always filed my income taxes every year without any problems but due unless there a unforeseen circummstanes or incident that occurred was beyond my control for me report all require income. I spoke with a rep and I was told what the examiner\&#039;s decision was that the the items that I supporting documents that I submitted are unclaimable expenses. I explain that I claim these same items on my 2008 and 2010 and only the 2009 it seem to be complex. The rep will go a head and mail me a copy to my place here in Moncks Corner. Hopefully, I will get it friday, and they are going return my original bankstatments that I had itemized for them back to my home address in NC.
